Destination We Are Trying To Get To
(Hebrews 11:1; Jeremiah 29:11; Luke 5:36-37)
(Hebrews 11:1; Jeremiah 29:11; Luke 5:36-37)
Before we get to our destination, or purpose God has for us, we must take off several things.
There are some people, that even after all of the moves of God and testimonies, still do not fully put their trust in God. Fear has a way of causing us to forget God’s record in our life, and the lives of those around us.
God says in Jeremiah 29:11, “I know what I’m doing and I’ve got it all planned out.”
God, as our pilot, knows what He’s doing. So every failed relationship, trial, tribulation, and pain, we tell God, “You don’t know what You’re doing. I thought this was supposed to be a smooth ride.”
Pilot Steve Alright, when asked what causes turbulence responded by saying,
“Many different things [cause turbulence], but each and every one of them is known and understood by the pilot. Turbulence is uncomfortable, but not dangerous.” – Pilot Steve Alright
When we try to add the old to the new, or the new to the old, it is misuse or abuse. How often do we try to patch Jesus on our lives, while still maintaining the old man?
“Jesus did not come to repair our tattered lives, He came to give us new ones.” – Pastor Jeffrey Trimble
Do you want to continue to cut holes [and patch your life] to reduce the pain, or do you want to be made whole?
