We All Have Something to Give
(1 Timothy 4:11-15)
(1 Timothy 4:11-15)
I would like to thank you guys for partnering with my family to send me to Guatemala on a mission trip with Casas Por Cristo to build an elderly Guatemalan’s couple first house.
I believe God opens doors for us to serve. He opens up opportunities and it’s always good to have a friend who can get you into the spot that you need to be in. I believe before God sends us out on a mission that He has planned for us—He has to prepare us.
Before going to Guatemala to build a house you have to know how to hammer. To hit the hammer, it takes practice and practice makes perfect. In the class, I believe God was teaching me work and work ethics. Work ethics are great, and we need them in this society because without work ethics, you are not going to be able to finish the things you need to finish. When you go out and do God’s plan and purpose for your life, you are going to have a distinguished anointment on your life. People are going to take notice and when people notice, you’ve got to walk with your purpose. I believe when you have the hand of God on you, people are going to be curious about what makes him do what he does or what makes her act the way she acts. When God has His hand on you—you are going to do amazing things.
On arrival, I was excited to be in a new country, but always would feel sad or even guilty because in America we take so much for granted. Most people in San Raymundo’s mountainous rural areas live in tin one room structures without electricity or running water. No indoor toilets, no showers, no stoves, and other things we enjoy. They were still grateful for all they had and appreciative of our being there.
After executing God’s plan, He will test to see how well you followed directions. Life will still be hard even with old age and rocky paths to get to their house, but now they can look at their house and know God will provide.
Ultimately, WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO GIVE. You can serve at your house, school, and church because God places people in our lives to help us execute plans for His glory. A generation is rising up that will be the champions for God and strength to keep pressing for our wise leaders who paved the way because WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO GIVE.
1 Timothy 4:11-15, 11 Command and teach these things. 12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. 15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. This is Paul talking to Timothy. Paul is a well-known apostle in the early church.
Speech and conduct: David & Goliath (1 Samuel 17:8-11, 45-47) & Moses (Exodus 3:1-17)
DAVID
Moses:
When you stray away from the plan set before you, and you want something different, it can come back to bite you. I could have missed an opportunity by getting sick in Guatemala, but I made it to the States. God is able to keep us when we stray off track. Our bodies as Christians are not made for worldly indulgences even though they look good on the outside. Listen to the council of your elders because they have experienced downfalls that we can avoid.
Be ready with a plan for your vision because there are people waiting to help; whether you are young or old, leaders like the pastors of this church are seeking for new ideas to help revolutionize the way we walk in God’s plan for this year and the many years to come.
If you don’t remember anything else from this message please remember that no matter our age, skin color, financial status, or anything else WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO GIVE.
