Staying Focused on the Promises of God
(Genesis 12:1-4)
(Genesis 12:1-4)
Genesis 12:1-4, 1Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” 4 So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.
Your circumstance does not negate God’s promise. God gave the promise knowing that the circumstance would happen. Whatever promise He has given you, He still intends to fulfill because He has factored in everything that has transpired.
(Genesis 11:31)
God doesn’t need your past to bring about a promise in your future. He is the initiator of the promise so don’t write yourself off.
(Genesis 12:1)
Abraham had to leave his country, kindred, and his father’s house. When you are not willing to leave the place where God is telling us to leave, it can become an idol. Leaving may mean leaving a temporary dwelling for a firm place. You cannot hold on to what’s behind you and reach what God has in front of you. It causes you to become stagnate. God is not going to allow you to pull your past into your future. Trust God and allow Him to be in control.

Make means to advance, to appoint, to govern and to use. God is the one who will advance, appoint, govern and use you. Let God bless you. Bless means to benefit, congratulate, salute, and praise. When you are blessed of God—nobody can reverse it.
Age has nothing to do with the promise. God is able to bring about the promise irrespective of your age. Don’t give up on the promise because you think that you are too old. Sometimes God uses multiple generations to fulfill a promise.
