Spiritual Gifts: DRAFT DAY
(Philippians 2:13)
(Philippians 2:13)
When talking about Spiritual Gifts, there are often three categories of people:
What do you love?
What do you dislike?
Will doing this inspire you every day?
When applying the three questions to John 3:16 we see that God loves the world, dislikes sin and people perishing, and inspiration through Jesus.
What are your answers to these questions?
Philippians 2:13 (NLT) – For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
God is working and giving you the desire and power to accomplish everything He has purposed for you to do.
When we look at football teams there are coaches that work with us to make sure we call plays that will put us in the best position to win. But there are also strength and conditioning coaches to ensure that the players have the power to handle the upcoming adversity. In the same way, God is our coach, putting us in position to win for the Kingdom of God. And He is working and giving us supernatural power to accomplish His purpose.
“God is giving you the playbook, but you have to go to practice.” – Pastor Jeffery Trimble
For those who are nervous and afraid to use your gift, do not be afraid. God has uniquely blessed you to fulfill His purpose in your life, and He is calling for that gift back.
Who do you want to please? Who do you want to serve?
When you start using your gift, people are going to be drawn to it.
Sometimes we make excuses on whether we should or should not do something.
Exodus 3:11 – But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”
This is a question that we all have.
“It’s OK to have that question, but don’t use it as an excuse.” – Pastor Jeffrey Trimble
Exodus 4:12 – Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.”
God takes away our excuses by telling us that He will help us overcome. So we are ultimately left without excuse.
Ephesians 4:16 – from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
Ephesians 4:21 (NIV) – When you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.
“You have to hear about Christ first and be taught by Him in order to excel in your gift.” – Pastor Jeffery Trimble
