Sermon Notes
A lot of time we don’t know how to measure our trust.
We need to make sure we decide to trust.
Have the comfort in knowing that God made us (Ps. 139:13). Since God made us, He knows what’s best for us.
Surrender to His plans for our lives (Jer. 29:11)
“A lot of the things we see as failure is meant to prosper us.” – Min. DiAna Kelly
We cannot have the Burger King mentality. We have to come on to what God has planned for us.
CLINGING
Cling to God and nothing else (Prov. 3:5-6) – This scripture deals in the definition of trust
“Cling to God with everything you’ve got.” – Min. DiAna Kelly
What does clinging look like for the life of a believer
Worship and outpouring our hearts to God through prayer
Giving God thanks in everything (1 Thess 5:16-18)
Must have a conscience effort to thank God for everything.
When you cling to God you have no room to get distracted by worry, doubt and fear (Phillipians 4:6-7)
MONITOR
Observe what you are thinking and how you are feeling
Recognize when you are falling into negative thought patterns
“We all have work to do whether we are sitting on the pulpit or on the floor.” – Min. DiAna Kelly
SATURATE
Saturate your heart and mind with the Word of God
You have the power to control those negative thoughts (Eph. 6:13-18a)
Read your Bible!!!!
REPLACE
Replace those negative thoughts with the promises and plans that God has laid out for you
Memorizing scripture is the best way to replace negative thoughts. (John 14:26)
LET IT GO
God cares for you (1Peter 5:7)
God will sustain you (Ps. 55:22)
Cast all your cares:
- Releasing control
- Throwing it God’s way
- Letting God take care of it
“You have to release control.” – Min. DiAna Kelly
