David’s Three-Point Testimony
(2 Chronicles 20:21-22)
(2 Chronicles 20:21-22)
Point 1 — Praise is a PRESENTATION – It was BEFORE the Lord
(v.21a)
While people may have been present, David wasn’t dancing for them — he was dancing for the Lord. Your camera may be rolling, but I’m not dancing to get on Instagram — I am presenting myself before the Lord.
Praise is NOT a weapon.
The warfare is real. The breakthrough is real.
The warfare was a byproduct. The praise was never the transaction.
We don’t praise to get something. We don’t shout money down. We don’t worship pounds off. We don’t dance our next miracle through the door.
When praise becomes a tool we use to get things from God, we have turned worship into witchcraft — we’re trying to manipulate a spiritual outcome with a spiritual act.
Praise is a PRESENTATION — we present ourselves before the Lord because He is worthy, not because we need a withdrawal.
The breakthrough comes because God shows up in the atmosphere of genuine worship.
Point 2 — Praise is a PROCLAMATION – “Who chose me instead of your father and all his house”
(v. 21b)
David said — I am doing this because the Lord has been GOOD to me! It was HIM who allowed me to become king. Not my victory over Goliath. Not General Abner. Not my military prowess. His Grace and Mercy allowed me to be here today.
WHEN YOU KNOW YOUR STORY PRAISE BECOMES A PROCLAMATION
Every shout is a declaration. Every lifted hand is a statement. Every tear in worship is a testimony that says — I didn’t get here by myself. Praise is how we keep the record straight.
.
Point 3 — Praise is a POSTURE – “I will be even more undignified… I will be humble in my own sight”
(v. 21c – 22)
David says — in response to God’s goodness, I have made up my mind. I will play music. I will be undignified. I will be humble before Him. This is not emotion — this is a decision. A settled posture before God.
