What to Do When You Are Overwhelmed
(Psalm 61:1-8)
(Psalm 61:1-8)
When we declare the God is knows what He is doing, we must be confident with that belief. The Bible itself is divided. In the Old Testament there are chapters full of judgement, the woes of life, and warnings, but in the New Testament the chapters are full of comfort, restoration, and hope about what Gd has in store. If we can understand the truth that God knows what He is doing, we can live with the confidence of truly entrusting in God.

We must understand God’s call and His invitation and command to listen and hear. Although we might want answers first, it is our task to listen first, as God is speaking, guiding and directing. We must make sure our ears are tuned in to His hearing. We must first give our ear to listen and fully pay attention. Next, we must hear His voice. Hear intelligently with the implication of obedience. Use deliberate concentration to hear so that it may shape your conduct or bring corrective action. Listening precedes understanding.
“We need to hear His voice with the intent of doing what He said.” – Dr. Michelle Jackson.
“God’s ways are purposeful and diverse.” – Dr. Michelle Jackson.
God’s plan for our lives is just like a farmer’s plan. He pays attention to the soil as well as the crops. Each seed needs something different and blooms in different seasons. God knows what is needed and is preparing us to receive everything He has for us.
“Just as the farmer works differently with each soil and each crop, God works differently with each one of us.” – Dr. Michelle Jackson.
God knows exactly what to use to shape our lives. The tools God uses might be disruptful or even painful, but they are purposeful for God’s plan. These things are here not to destroy you but rather to refine you. God knows the pressure He puts on you and understands, in order to produce the fruit in your life. At times we may use the wrong tools for our lives, but God does not.
“He uses the right tool for the right task at the right time in the right way.” – Dr. Michelle Jackson.

God’s wisdom is perfect, flawless, unsearchable, proven and trustworthy. God does nothing out of deceit, but His purpose is motivated by love. His wisdom is productive.
