Anointed to Love
(2 Corinthians 2:3-11; 1 Corinthians 5:1-12)
(2 Corinthians 2:3-11; 1 Corinthians 5:1-12)
INTRODUCTION
Closing our Love series. We received it. We released it. Now we are challenged to reaffirm it — and this is where most of us struggle.
.
POINT 1 — RECOGNIZE
1 Corinthians 5:1–2 | Luke 15:17–20
Love is not blind. Real love sees the problem and responds — not out of wrath, but with redemptive intention. There is a difference between punishment and discipline. Discipline always has restoration as its goal.
.
POINT 2 — REPAIR
2 Corinthians 2:4–8 | Galatians 6:1
Repair cannot be completed without repentance. Once repentance occurs — the assignment changes. To withhold restoration from a repentant person is not righteousness. It is dangerous.
.
POINT 3 — REAFFIRM
2 Corinthians 2:7–8 | Psalm 136:1 | Romans 5:8
The hardest movement. We stall here because of trauma, not just pride. But God’s mercy endures forever — and we are called to reflect it. Reaffirmation is not naivety. It is the character of the Kingdom made visible.
.
CLOSING THOUGHT
We are not asked to do this in our own strength. We are anointed to love — and the anointing covers the whole journey, from recognition all the way to reaffirmation
