Equipped to Stand

 Stand in THE FAITH (1 Corinthians 16:13)

Stand in GRACE (1 Peter 5:12)

Stand in LIBERTY (Galatians 5:1)

Stand in UNITY (Philippians 1:27)

Stand in COMPLETE WILL OF GOD (Colossians 4:12)

God is ABLE TO MAKE YOU STAND (Romans 14:4)

The other scriptures tell us to “STAND IN…”, Ephesians 6 tells us to “STAND AGAINST.”

Stand AGAINST THE WILES OF THE DEVIL (Ephesians 6:10-12)

¹⁰Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

¹¹Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

¹²For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

STAND AGAINST was a military term meaning to RESIST THE ENEMY, HOLD YOUR POSITION, and OFFER NO SURRENDER.

 

 THE SOURCE OF STANDING (Ephesians 6:10)

The Source of Standing is WALKING IN GOD’S STRENGTH.

Our strength does not originate from us.

THE SECRET OF STANDING (Ephesians 6:11)

The Secret of Standing is PUTTING ON GOD’S ARMOR.

The armor is complete protection to be able to stand.

THE STRATEGY OF STANDING (Ephesians 6:11)

 God’s Strategy of Standing is WARRING AGAINST GOD’S ENEMY.

Must recognize the real enemy and resist his tactics.

Discernment is going to be critical to your victory.  Pray for discernment.  Ask God to reveal what may not be visible.

Observation – What do I see?

Information – What do I know?

Revelation – What does God say?

Interpretation – What do I understand?

Confirmation – What are others saying?

Application – What must I do?

Be Strong.  Put On.  Stand Against.
