How to Be a Faithful Father
(Malachi 4:5-6)
(Malachi 4:5-6)
The father’s role was so important that it closed out the last book of the Old Testament.
Malachi 4:5–6 (NKJV)
5Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
6And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
.
Fathers interrupt the curse!
.
.
In Deuteronomy 6:6-7, we are instructed, “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
.
Biblical Example: Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus
Matthew 1:18–21 (NKJV)
18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
19Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
20But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
Matthew 1:24–25 (NKJV)
24Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,
25and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.
“Joseph was, literally, given stewardship to raise the Son of God.” – Pastor Billy Johnson

Practical Application
.
Galatians 4:1–2 (NKJV)
1Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all,
2but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father.
.
THE KEY TO STAYING INVOLVED IS YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THAT YOUR ROLE WILL CHANGE.
STAY INVOLVED IN THEIR LIVES!
.
Proverbs 19:14 (NKJV)
14Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the Lord.
Proverbs 13:22 (NKJV)
22A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.

STAY INVESTED IN THEIR LIVES!
.
Remember that fatherhood is a divine calling that requires us to STAY IN the lives of our sons and daughters, STAY INVOLVED, and STAY INVESTED in their lives.
We must embrace our roles with faithfulness and love. By being present, involved, and invested, we can make a lasting impact on our children’s lives, shaping them into individuals who honor God and fulfill their potential. Let us seek God’s strength and wisdom as we fulfill this sacred duty, always remembering that our Heavenly Father is the ultimate example of perfect fatherhood. May God bless all the fathers here today and guide you in this wonderful journey.
