Don’t Forget to Give God Thanks
(Psalm 100:1-5)
Sermon Notes
1Make a joyful shout to the Lord, [a]all you lands!
2Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
3Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and [b]not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.
During all our doing, how many of us have paused to give God thanks? Although this is the Thanksgiving season, as a Christian, we don’t need a special day to give God thanks. Thank God every day!

WE CAN SERVE GOD BY:
By Praising God (v.1)
- Make a joyful noise.
- Use all of who you are to praise God.

Emotions are God given but they do not tell God what to do. So come in and give God your all!

By Serving God (v.2)
- Serving here means to “work.”
- How do you think God feels when we come into his presence with an attitude?
“What if God did a review on you for your service to Him?” – Elder Michelle Jackson
Do you have a bad attitude? God may need to use you. You can’t be a blessing to people like that.
Are people not coming to Christ because of you?

By Depending on God (v.3)
- Know there means to acknowledge God.
- Incorporate God into your daily life.

Everything that God created is proof that he exists.
Dependency on God is one of the biggest thanks that we can give Him.

By Giving to God (v.4)
- Enter into His gates and courts with thanksgiving and praise.
- Before you even get into the sanctuary get the “stuff” off of you.

We must be givers of thanks given all that God has given to us.
Our mind, will, emotions are where we struggle to yield to God.
Let’s give God what is due Him.

By Remembering God (v.5)
- Thinking on God’s goodness should make you smile.
- We don’t lose by giving God thanks.
- God’s mercy will never run out.

God’s truth (His faithfulness, reliability) endures to all generations.
