Serving with Grace
(Titus 2:11-14)
(Titus 2:11-14)
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
Upon waking we should be engaged in serving. Serving is a lifestyle, a part of our purpose. The Apostle Paul wrote a letter to Titus with instructions to give stability to the church and bring stability to the life the believer.
The Book of Titus focuses on:
Grace means to rejoice or experience joy; favor, acceptance, or a kindness desired.
“Grace is a favor done without the expectation of anything in return.” – Elder Kelvin Ford.
Grace is unearned and unmerited but given anyway. It is God’s grace that forgives the sinner and brings joy.
WHAT WE NEED TO DO:
.
Receive The Grace to Believe
(Titus 3: 3-6) (Ephesians 2:8-10)
By grace we have been saved through faith. The grace is available but we must do our part and believe. We must surrender to God in order to be the vessel of grace we are purposed for.
Receive The Grace to Live Right
(Corinthians 5:10)
The Apostle Paul thought is was important to provide instructions for believers to be more Christ-like. God revealed His kindness and love which saved us, giving us a new life through the Holy Spirit. Being equipped to walk in grace is important so that others may see the grace as well. To maintain “right living” may come in the form of: a prayer partner, small groups, or Bible Study.
.
Receive The Grace for Good Works
(2 Peter 1:3-4)
By His power we receive what is needed by coming to know Him.
“God does the work in us first, so that He can do the work thru us.” – Elder Kelvin Ford.
In closing, God gives grace, we walk in it, and we give grace to others.
