The Prophecy Will Happen
(Luke 1:26-33)
(Luke 1:26-33)
26Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,
27to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.
28And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
29But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.
30Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
31And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.
32He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.
33And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
There is a portion of the prophecy that has been fulfilled. However, there is more to come.

2Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
4And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
.
THE PROCESS OF PROPHECY
Prophecy – God, who is in eternity and sees all of time, takes a snapshot of a specific time and shows it to someone before it happens.
.
God Gives a Promise Through Prophecy
God’s Promises – When God says a thing will happen, it has to happen. His integrity is on the line, and He cannot lie.
.
There Is a Pace to the Prophecy Given
God’s Pace – We may not know the PACE that the prophecy is happening, but God knows.
“The word God has spoken has a time and a date stamped on it.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
.
Ultimately, the Prophecy Fulfills God’s Plans
God’s Plans – The prophecy involves you but is bigger and more significant than you.
.
WHY IS IT THAT WE CAN BE CONFIDENT THAT THE PROPHECY WILL HAPPEN?
Luke 1:37 (NKJV)
37For with God nothing will be impossible.”
Luke 1:37–38 (NLT)
37For the word of God will never fail.”
.
OUR RESPONSE TO GOD’S WORD SHOULD BE LIKE MARY’S RESPONSE.
Luke 1:38 (NKJV)
38Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
Luke 1:38 (NLT)
38Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her.
