(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

What Are We to Do?
Give thanks! (v18)
To give thinks is to express gratitude for benefits or blessings. We have benefits in God. We have the honor to give thanks to the Lord.
Thanksgiving is the way we approach God (Psalm 100:4)
Why? Because He has been good.
Thanksgiving is something we should abound in (Colossians 2:7; 3:17)
Incorporate this thanksgiving into everything.

When Are We to Give Thanks?
In Everything (v18)
Thank Him in everything even though we may not understand it. (Ephesians 5:18-20)

Being ungrateful is the very essence of an unregenerate heart. (Romans 1:21)

T – Controls our THOUGHTS
H – Covers our HEARTS
A – Cultivates a good ATTITUDE
N – Shows us our real NEED
K – Causes us to KNEEL
S – Helps us to conquer SELFISHNESS
