Why Are We Here?
(1 Kings 19:4-14)
(1 Kings 19:4-14)
Question: Do we ever find ourselves in a situation where it is too much? In such moments we need to be watchful over our prayers. We tend to pray based on the current circumstance rather than who God is in our lives. It is important that we agree with the what God says and not with the words and voices of others.
How did God respond to Elijah’s prayer from a place of fear?
God sustained him. God spoke even though prayers were made from a place of fear.
God strengthened him. God knew there was more to his life than where he was or what he had already done.
God solidified his calling. We can’t allow the surrounding circumstances to cause us to lose track of God’s calling in our lives.
God prepared his successor. God will anoint us to mentor our successor, because God’s kingdom purpose is bigger than any one of us.
Be encouraged to not miss when God is passing (vs 11-12).
Our focus in prayer should always be seeking God.
