I Am the Good Shepherd
(John 10:1-11)
(John 10:1-11)
Who is Christ?
Continuing the series on the “I Am” statements, we focus on the statement: “I am the good shepherd.”
7 “I AM” Statements:
There are 3 lessons we can learn from the statement: I am the good shepherd (John 10:11)
John 10:9 – “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.”
The gate is “entry into the new life.” – Dr. David Ireland
You will find new life, substance, and purpose in life.
John 10:3 – “To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.”
The sheep know the voice of the shepherd and will listen and be guided. They will not recognize and be led by a stranger. Do you know the voice of God and do you obey the command? Is Jesus your leader?
“It’s easy to follow the shepherd of the flock who is concerned about the well-being of the whole.” – Dr. David Ireland
John 10:11 – “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.”
The purpose of Jesus’ life is to lay it down. It is not accidental, it is intentional.
