Use the Name of Jesus
(Matthew 1:21; Philippians 2:9-11)
(Matthew 1:21; Philippians 2:9-11)
Have you ever had courtesies extended to you because you used the name of someone who asked you to use their name? You and I have been given the privileges extended by using the name of Jesus. Don’t thank the Lord for the holidays and forget to use the name of Jesus.
Matt 1:21— And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
Mary was given the specific name of Jesus to name her son. His job was to rescue, save people from their sins. Our greatest need was a savior because sin had separated us from God.
Phil 2:9-11 – 9Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
This name is something that was given by God. There is salvation in no other name. God has highly exalted His name over any other name.
This name is not only above the names of people but also above the name of conditions.
The name of Jesus will work in any situation. When your back is up against the wall the name of Jesus is always the one that is called upon. It’s above people, conditions, situations. Use the name of Jesus!
“I am a user.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
Jesus is worthy of all the praise and adoration we can give him.
Phil 2:10 – Every knee will bow…in heaven, on earth and under the earth (even the demons will bow). To bow is a gesture of submission to Him.
“It’s impossible to use that name if you haven’t submitted to the name of Jesus.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
When you submit to the name there is a reverential honor that gives you the authority to use that name.
Whoever, whatever, whenever calls upon the name of Jesus will be saved.
When we honor and submit to the name amazing things will happen.
“Take authority over the atmosphere before you get started.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
“Authority does not mean volume.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
Speaking loud does not give you authority over any situation. Once you take authority come out and act as if it’s so.
The enemy has people assigned to frustrate you in the promise that has been given to you. Submit to the name of Jesus!
Acts 3:16— And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
This man was healed at the faith in His (Jesus) name. Note that the man walked immediately, bypassing the rehab process.
God has not lost His ability. He can and still will…
