Agree with God
(Luke 1:26-38)
(Luke 1:26-38)
To agree means to accept, consent, and be in harmony. So when we are agreeing with God we need to accept, consent, and be in harmony with God.
“God is never unsure about the outcome.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
God knows the end from the beginning, and so when God speaks something, we can trust that He knows best. God will often speak things that don’t appear accurate in the natural, but are yet to come.
The Angel of the Lord spoke to Mary and told her that
God wanted to use Mary as a vessel to bring forth the solution to humanity’s greatest problem.
In verse 30, we see the angel of the Lord speaking two things that Mary will do:
And the Angel of the Lord spoke 5 things that her son, Jesus, would do:
Mary’s cousin Elizabeth, who was called barren, was now pregnant. This wasn’t an opportunity for comparison and competition. Rather, this news acted as proof and encouragement for Mary that if God could do it for her cousin then He could definitely do it through her. Our responsibility is to rejoice with what God is doing through others.
“Sometimes it’s easier to weep with people than rejoice with people.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
In verse 38, the inference is nothing is impossible because of a lack of power.
“God will never be accused of lacking enough power to bring forth what He said.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
