Sermon Notes
The solution for all of the issues and questions of life can be found in the presence of God.
What is the presence of God?
The word “presence” when mentioned throughout scripture refers to the Hebrew word that means face. So it implies a close, personal encounter with the creator of the universe.
How Do We Get Face-To-Face with God?
Remember We Have Access
Remember in the book of Esther that the whole nation of Israel was getting ready to be annihilated. However, going before the king without an invitation could quite possi-bly result in your death. Yet, Esther was given access.
In John 7:37, Jesus extended the invitation saying, “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.”
Hebrews 4:16 – Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
“I have an all-access pass to the presence of God.” – Minister Alfie James
Remove The Distractions
We have to get to the point where we release the distractions so we can get into the presence of the One who can help.
“The enemy has released weapons of mass distractions.” – Minister Alfie James
“Let us not be so connected to the things of life that we lose our connection to the source of life.” – Minister Alfie James
Even Jesus, slipped away from the crowd, His disciples, and even His close three disciples, to spend time with our heavenly Father.
Jeremiah 29:13 – And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
“We can’t give God a part of us and expect all of Him.” – Minister Alfie James
Enter In
Psalms 100:4 – Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and enter into His courts with praise.
• We start with thanksgiving. How often do we begin our day by thanking God?
• Then we begin to praise. Praise simply means to speak well of.
• Then we begin to repent for those things we have said or done that is sin.
• And once we are free of that burden, we begin to ask for more of Him
