Seasons
(John 12:1-8)
(John 12:1-8)
Ecclesiastes says to everything there is a season. You only have a given time in a season to perform a specific purpose.
Genesis 1:14-18, 14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.”
The thing that determines the season is the light. The amount of light you have will determine your ability to go into the next season. Sometimes God will attach you to a person that is already in the light. The season has changed and it’s your duty to determine the light for your new season.
John 12:1-8, Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead,[a] whom He had raised from the dead. 2 There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him. 3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.4 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray Him, said, 5 “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii[b] and given to the poor?” 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.7 But Jesus said, “Let her alone; she has kept[c] this for the day of My burial. 8 For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always.”
Jesus had been there before and Mary did not use the oil. It was the season and the time for Mary to use the oil on Jesus. What season was it? He had to tell them it was His time to die. Mary did not miss the season, the disciples did.
