It‘s Not About You It’s About Us
(Romans 12:3, 5)
(Romans 12:3, 5)
When we think that we can be the church by ourselves, we are thinking more highly of ourselves than we should; it has the emphasis of being proud. We need to think sensibly and soberly. For me to think more highly of myself is ludicrous because God has given us the same faith.
Romans 12:3 “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith” (NKJV).
We don’t need to think more highly of ourselves because:
You and I have been given the same faith.
God placed us in the body. We are many members but we are one body. We fit best where God has placed us. God has you where you are for a reason. He expects us to fit together in that place. As you do your part it helps the body grow. We grow so that the whole body is healthy.
Romans 12:4 “For as we have many members in one body…” (NKJV).

Ephesians 4:16 NLT
There is something that God has given each of us and we all do not have the same function. God has given each of us something that’s vital to the body.
Romans 12:4 “…but all the members do not have the same function” (NKJV).
Ephesians 4:16 “He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love” (NLT).
“If I’m doing my part—you grow. If you do your part—I grow.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
I cannot be the body of Christ by myself and you cannot be the body of Christ by yourself. The enemy fights us with this individualist mindset in our society.
Romans 12:5 “…so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other” (NLT).
