Set Free (Part 2)
(John 8:31-32)
(John 8:31-32)
The Lord’s desire is for us to be set free. The means to freedom is truth. How does truth travel in our lives?
Examining God’s desire regarding truth:
“It’s God’s desire that all men be saved.” – Pastor Billy R. Johnson
God wants people to be saved and He also wants us to come to the understanding of the truth. The whole world may not be saved, but we all have the opportunity through Christ and His word. We must not only know the truth but receive the truth as well.
“The Holy Spirit is on a mission to guide us into truth.” – Pastor Billy R. Johnson
We cannot know God unless the Holy Spirit reveals Him to us. We may not have the ability alone, but when the Holy Spirit arrives, this will guide us into truth.
“God does not want us to be bound by lies.” – Pastor Billy R. Johnson
In the scripture, Jesus is praying for the people. Sanctify is to be set apart for special use. Sanctify is also to be distinct from the world of sin, its values and its goals. As we come to the knowledge of truth, and are guided into truth, we may experience a renewing of the mind, as we begin to think in new ways. The truth now must be used for the work of God. Being sanctified will cause us to be set apart, and we must be comfortable in this distinction, as we begin to see a difference in the way we think.
Walking in truth causes your life and all in it to be aligned with the truth.
“To love the truth is to make it a part of your life.” – Pastor Billy R. Johnson
This is where we get to a place when our actions align with the truth, our thoughts are set apart and distinct, and we are truly living in the truth of God’s word.
