Who Is Jesus?
Since Adam and Eve, all humans are born into a state of sin and unrighteousness. Sin created a separation between us and God—a chasm that could never be bridged by any amount of good works or human effort. The only way for humankind to return to God was for the sin debt to be paid. Because of God’s great love for humanity, He sent His Son to be the payment for our sin so that we could have right standing with God and enjoy His presence now and forever. (Rom. 3:23; Rom. 5:12, 19; Rom. 5:8; John 3:16-17)
