Trust God
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
God is trustworthy. His character and track record shows us that He is trustworthy.
Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
One of the biggest obstacles to trusting God is our own head. That enemy called “doubt” tries to slip in and dissuade us from the path God set for us.
Psalms 37:3-5 – Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Genesis 12:1-3 – Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
This is a promise that God gave to Abraham, that became known as the Abrahamic Covenant. God promised him land, seed, and blessing.
We can trust God, because those that have accepted Jesus as their Lord and savior have been predestined for the promise.
Ephesians 1:4-5 – even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will
God’s work in Abraham was His continued work from the Garden of Eden when man fell. God always had a plan to redeem us.
Romans 5:8-9 – but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
We have the guarantee of our inheritance: the Holy Spirit!
Ephesians 1:13-14 – In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
Genesis 12:3 – In you all families of the earth will be blessed.
3 John 1:2 – Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.
Deuteronomy 8:18 – You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
