We Need Relationships
(Genesis 2:18-25)

“Everything that you need is in a relationship, even your salvation.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
It’s important that we know how to get along and treat people right.
“90% of people fail in their life’s vocation because they can’t get along with people.” – Carnegie
The world has been gauging how we get along with people. Relationships play a big part in our success—vocationally and spiritually.
Even our first grades we received in school dealt with how well we played with others.
In the Genesis account, everything before the creation of man He said was good. The first time something was not good, recorded in scripture, was man being alone, self-contained, all-in-one. God said, “This is not good.”
We can only live in Relationships
Experiments conducted centuries ago proved that without human relationships, people perish.
Sometimes our pride keeps us from other people; we need one another. That’s the area where the enemy will dwarf us. We need people.
Ecclesiastes 4:9 (NKJV) – Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
Proverbs 18:1 (NKJV) – A man who isolates seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgement.
In difficulties, when we isolates ourselves we only have our own thoughts in the situation.
God’s solution for man being alone was to bring a helper, the woman, who is comparable to him. Even our pet animals cannot substitute for human relationships.
This is so important today because of the ease of digital distractions. Many times we don’t want to pursue relationships because it’s going to expose something about us.
“There is something about being able to interact with people.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
“The enemy is not a creator, he only counterfeits.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
Genesis 2:21 (NKJV) – And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept.
A lot of times we are in chaos and it’s difficult to receive new people.
If your life is in turmoil, you become like a porcupine, pricking everyone that comes close. For others, your life is simply too busy. You are so busy you don’t have time for anything else except what you are doing.
We have to make sure we are in a place of rest.
Questions to ponder:
What relationships do you need in your life?
Do you have space in your life for that relationship?
“Every relationship requires space and time.” – Apostle Lafayette Scales
“To make” simply means to build. Many times we catch people in their embryonic state, and we try to bring them into our lives. And although it might be the right person, it may be the wrong time.
“Every person in my life is in my life for a purpose.” – Dr. D’Ann Johnson
Let God begin to make people before we bring them into our lives.
“Are you patient enough to allow God to make them?” – Pastor Billy Johnson
