Where is the Evidence?
(Matthew 7:20)
(Matthew 7:20)
Matthew 7:20 – Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
We’ve been taught who the Holy Spirit is and who He is not. We’ve been studying the fruit of the Spirit for quite a while now, and in that study, one question arise:
What is the evidence of the fruit?
Can people tell that you are walking in the spirit? Do people see that you are displaying the fruit of the Spirit. Where is the evidence?
John 20:22 – And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
“Jesus is still breathing and we have the choice to receive.” – Minister Michelle Jackson
Where is the evidence that you are walking in the spirit? You know if you are walking in the spirit. Think about how it’s manifesting in your life. We can be out of line and out of alignment because we have not been called to walk things out by ourselves. The ultimate goal is to live a life so that God is glorified. If you are living a life where God is glorified, you are living in alignment.
Who is the Spirit?
He’s our comforter, guide, healer. Spirit of light, spirit of holiness, spirit of might
He leads, comforts, fills, teaches, brings words to our remembrance, and He prays.
He is working in our lives making us alive. He has quickened us on the inside. The Spirit of God has arisen on the inside of us and quickened us. He has a different perspective than what we see.
Philippians 2:5 (NKJV) – Let this mind be in you that is also in Christ Jesus
Romans 12:2 (NKJV) – And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NKJV) 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
If the fruit is manifesting your thinking, it must be different. Where is the evidence that your thinking is different? Our thinking is what establishes the stronghold in our lives. The Holy Spirit is the only thing that can break the stronghold so you can hear what God is saying.
“Nothing is different until you think differently.” – Minister Michelle Jackson
As a result of the peace of God our thinking changes.
Philippians 4:7-8 (NKJV) – and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Colossians 4:6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
“Is your speech gracious?” – Minister Michelle Jackson
Matthew 12:34 – For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
The direction of our talk has to change as well. We often talk to everyone else instead of talking to the Holy Spirit.
“If you have to talk, talk to God. If you need to whisper, whisper a prayer.” – Emma Jefferson
“If your thinking hasn’t changed—your talking will not change.” – Minister Michelle Jackson
Colossians 3:17 (NKJV) – And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:22 (NKJV) – Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.
“If your thinking changes then your talking and doing will change.” – Minister Michelle Jackson
