What to Do with The Resurrection
(Matthew 28:1-8)
(Matthew 28:1-8)
The word resurrection simply means to stand up again. God has the ability to call things in your life to stand up. In order for something to be resurrected it had to be dead. Not resuscitation, but resurrection.
In this text, these women were followers of Jesus. We hear about the 12 disciples, but there were many women who supported the ministry.
Many times we have not investigated what happened during the resurrection. But as the angel of the Lord said, we should investigate it. And we find that Jesus kept His word by picking up his life, thus proving He was the Son of God. The resurrection is a preview of what’s to come. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead will cause that which is mortal to put on immortality. He got up with a glorified body. Our faith will not crumble under the investigation.
It shows He paid for our sins. The payment for sin is death; He died for humanity.
Let there be an urgency in telling the good news, that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead. In our lives, we share so much of our lives on social media. No matter how significant the issues, we think they are important enough to share.
Jesus, the resurrection, the greatest thing that happened is worth sharing. We need to not only investigate, but also communicate this.
For as many as received Him, He gave the right to become children of God.
