The disciples were given power to speak in tongues

Acts 2:1-4 – When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance

To Preach

In Acts 2:14-36, we see Peter preaching with power and effectiveness.

To Hear

Acts 2:37 – Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

Cut to the heart – they were stabbed through and through.  The Word was so powerful that it pierced them.

To Become A Community of Believers

Acts 2:42-47

They continued steadfastlyin 4 things, and these were the components that caused them to be a community of faith:

• Doctrine – It’s not enough to have faith, but rather to have in informed faith.
• Fellowship – We cannot do this Christian life alone.
• Breaking of Bread – They ate together.
• Prayers – We must pray.
