What To Do When You Are Overwhelmed and Facing Despair (Part 3)

The Decisions You Make During Your Times of Despair Can Bring About Your Deliverance
Please know that there is hope. There is light at the end of the tunnel. We know there is deliverance because there is a Deliverer.
“God has already stamped out a day of your deliverance” – Pastor Billy Johnson
“Don’t just go through it; grow through it.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
In your despair, you are learning who God is.
You Will Have A Fresh View of God
Here is Asaph in his time of despair, and he begins to Remember, Meditate, and Talk about who God is and His wonders.
When we get to verse 13, Asaph begins saying “Your Way oh God is Holy”. Once you’ve experienced your deliverance, you gain a fresh view of how God works and how great He is. Asaph gained a fresh view of God after his deliverance. He saw more of His character, as it is with us. Once you have gone through, you’ll began to say, “God you have done some amazing things.” You do not serve a small God. The devil is not God’s equal. There is nobody like our God. God is bigger than the people threatening you!
In verse 15, we see that God redeemed the children of Jacob and Joseph. If we remember, Joseph was a man of strong faith and character and walked uprightly even though he was mistreated by family, friends, and employers. Jacob was a trickster and a deceiver. We can be encouraged in the fact that God will redeem both the “Jacobs” and “Josephs” of the world.
In verse 16, Asaph begins to reminisce on how God delivered them out of Egypt. In verse 19, Asaph recounts that of all the ways God could have delivered them, through the Red Sea was a path that no one considered. There were over a million people, and there was no boat. The sea would be the first path eliminated. But when Moses asked God what he should do, God responded, “What’s in your hand?” A rod. God commanded that they go forward, going the way he had eliminated as possible. God led in a way that no one could see.
v19 (NLT) – Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters – a pathway no one knew was there!
“God will cause you to use what you’ve got to go where you need to go.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
Who would’ve thought that after all you’ve seen, God could do something that you wouldn’t have even thought.
The way was already there, the issue was, YOU didn’t see it.
