Wise Men Still Worship
(Matthew 2:1-12)
(Matthew 2:1-12)
Worship – A moment in time when we cease being influenced by anyone or anything but God. What would it look like if we cease being influenced by Him? He’s worthy of it. Are we willing to give Him the worship he is due?
“I did not say ask Him for what you want, simple honor him. Wise men still worship God.” – Pastor Billy Johnson
Matthew 2 vs 10-12 are keys for us to worship by:
To simply leave one place and go into another. This is not necessarily geographical. We are occupied with what is going on in our lives. To worship we need to leave one place and go into another. When we worship, we enter into the presence of God. If you are going to go before God, there has to be sincerity and truth. Things that are seemingly important don’t matter anymore
He is who you are looking for in worship. Don’t look for the feeling, look for Him. Make sure you see Jesus.
To fall down and prostrate yourself, humble yourself in the presence of a superior. Have you acknowledged His authority in your life.
“If your opinion is more than His, something is wrong”. Pastor Billy Johnson
They got to a place of a dog lapping his master’s hand. Worship means to come close to and kiss toward. Sometimes when you get closer in relationship to God, His voice gets lower in order for you to hear.
When you love giving comes out of that love.
“You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving”. Pastor Billy Johnson
If you are still stingy, you have not worshiped. They brought Him gifts to justify that He was not just a man, but God. They came to show His prophetic purpose, not only to live but to die. You have a prophetic purpose. You cannot stop it and the devil cannot stop it.
If you are still disobedient, your worship is no good. Don’t say you love Him and disobey Him. Wise men still worship.
John 14:15 says, “If you love me, keep my commandments”.
