Many of us have gotten the “big stuff” mentality. That is, based on what we drive, possess, or have in the bank we start viewing ourselves as “Mr. Big Stuff”.
True spirituality is wrapped in our assessment of ourselves. There are two views that keep us out of God’s purpose for our lives: One view is too high and the other view is too low.
Thinking Too Highly
In Exodus, we see that Moses had a view of himself that was too high. So high in fact, that he felt justified in killing a man. Then he decided to play judge between two of his brothers.
Effects of Thinking Too Highly
- You kill relationships
- You kill opportunities
Thinking Too Lowly
So many Christians have a fear of failure and a fear of inadequacy. You must speak to yourself what God says:
- Philippians 4:13 – We can do all things through Christ…
- Romans 12:6 – We all have a unique gift…
